In response to the faculty of Agriculture of University of Sabaragamuwa, Avon team conducted a workshop to train interested staff members, including lecturers, demonstrators and laboratory technologists.
Some Senior Scientists and Dean of the Faculty were also present as it was a great experience for the university to get support from industry partners
The training schedule included
- DNA extraction from Wizard Genomic DNA extraction system
- dsDNA quantitation using Quantus Fluorometer and dsDNA dye system
- PCR using GoTaq PCR master mix
- Gel Electrophoresis
During the workshop, the Q&A session was carried out with a greater exchange of knowledge in practical aspects of molecular biology.
The workshop was conducted by Miss Nadeesha Senarath (Application Specialist) and Mr Pumindu Herath (Product Manager – Life Sciences) with the participation of Mr Dilip Fernando (GM), Mr Hasun Sampath (Sales Manager), Mr Bhathiya Amaradasa (Product Manager – Equipment) & Mr Lahiru Nimendra (Marketing Executive).
