Avon Life Science team conducts a Micropipette training and on sourcing molecular biology applications and support at Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo
In recognition the capacities of the Avon team, an opportunity was opened to share the techniques for accurate use of micropipettes and strategies in selecting or sourcing molecular biology products and services at the department of Biochemistry, Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo recently.
The GM, Mr Dilip shared a few thoughts on “what is the real role Avon is playing in the industry, rather fighting for profits” themed “CSR initiatives of Avon”. And he expressed the support extended for the “ Sri Lankan Scientist magazine initiative” as a great achievement of Avon in terms of Corporate Social Responsibility.
These initiatives were warmly welcomed by the senior professors present at the event.
The interactive session of accurate micropipette handling was conducted by Mr Hasun Sampath Wickramasinghe, the Sales manager of Avon. Avon team practically shared the basic maintenance and service tips for all the participants.
This was followed by the presentation of Miss Nadeesha and Mr Pumindu which shared information on molecular biology applications, especially on cell based assays, kinase assays, and proteomics which were more convenient applications for the biochemistry researchers in the faculty.
However, more interest was on the regular genomics applications such as PCR RT PCR and nucleic acid purification for which Avon excels in quality supplies and services in Sri Lankan market.
It was finally a greater sharing session and that helped Avon to sustain her being a leader in molecular life sciences
