A special workshop on Latest Technologies of Microscopy organized by Avon Pharmo Chem was held at the conference hall of Horticultural Crop Development Institute in Kandy on 12th June 2018. Research officers and technical officers from various institutes related to the Department of Agriculture participated the workshop.
Mr. Jyothish Krishnan, Regional Manager, Asia Pacific Region, Optika Microscopes delivered the guest lectures in two different sessions and during those sessions Mr. Krishnan explained various aspects of Microscopy including observation methods, Uses, Accessories, and some useful tips that can be used in microscopy. During the QA session participants directed many questions to Mr. Krishnan on issues they come across while using microscopes in their day to day research work.
Representatives from A on Pharmo chem, The Sri Lankan Scientist magazine were also present at this event representing the sponsors. At the same time Sri Lanka Association for the Advancement of Science(SLAAS) too joined this event and conducted a special session on SLAAS and its’ activities. And participants were asked to give their ideas to improve the Sri Lankan Agriculture sector.
